  • I would attribute the higher number of cases to two things

Also being double jabbed making people more likely to feel comfortable going out and socialising, go to festivals I reckon.
Hasn't it been shown that having some layer of protection makes people take more risks, think it was about helmet wearing I'm remembering

    Risk homeostasis or Risk Compensation.

  • So the non vaccinated are not responsible enough to report illness but also too afraid to socialise? Seems odd?

  • Spot the mask at the Emirates yesterday.

I gave yesterday's match a go with an open mind. Not sure I'll be going back for a while.

Was sad to see that none of the three disabled chaps who sit with us were at the game. Hoping it wasn't to do with lack of mask wearing. I mean, if you were vulnerable, would you go?

  • We came in on the train from Amsterdam yesterday. PCR tests 48 hours before leaving cost us nothing and were taken by someone trained to do so round the corner from our house. Diy day 2 PCR tests here 80 quid each. I'll then have the same on the way back and again free in NL.

I'm a bit worried though, I feel a bit woozy today. I can still taste and smell, but a bit woozy and a slightly stiffly nose. I guess I'll do a lateral flow. It is probably fine. I was negative a couple of days ago, and I am vaccinated (single dose Janssen) but doesn't stop worrying

  • I was there too. Very few masks indeed. But to be fair at that point most people are drinking or eating (as you can also see in the picture) or walking to the outdoors.

Also, people need to stop taking pictures of strangers in an attempt to shame them/boast on the internet. It's weird.

  • single dose Janssen

Lovely to see how you've gone native in the Netherlands. :)

  • Indeed.

I was in a very special group at the time. Seafarers, prisoners, those on active military service and those born in 1967 or 1968

  • I just looked - that's exactly where we were (111). I'm guessing by how busy it is that this was halftime (it was much less busy before the match started as people filter in). We didn't leave our seats then, but had we you could have easily got a pic of us trying to slam a pint down. Maskless! For shame!

  • Throw in parkinsons disease and that pretty much what I was told by specialist here

  • Same at the hawthorns. Few people in my friendship group won’t be returning for a while. One person who’s sat behind me hasn’t been reachable in the last 12 months via text or email by the guys who sit next to him.

  • surely your beef here is with the government not the people who are simply following the rules. If you are allowed to freely congregate inside and eat and drink without wearing masks, dont have a go at people when they dont wear masks. Surely thats fairly logical?

  • I was there too.

    WTaF? With Bill?

  • WTaF? With Bill?

Nah, Bill and I only go to Leyton games (although not in years. I should go down to see Hamlet with him). Went with with Ben (not Beagle Ben)!

  • @Buffalo_Bill sold out North London a long time ago. Lost cause. Mrak and I went

  • Well yeah. You guys do seem to be assuming that I'm blaming the fans.

It would help a lot if people were allowed to take their beers to their seats too.

  • Also, people need to stop taking pictures of strangers in an attempt to shame them/boast on the internet. It's weird.

I have made no attempt to shame people or boast on the internet. It's just an illustration of how fucking stupid the rules are at the moment.

    Well:

Spot the mask at the Emirates yesterday.

    ...

Hoping it wasn't to do with lack of mask wearing.

I think you can forgive me for mistaking this to be a critique of the behaviour of the people you posted a picture of, rather than rules.

I do agree about beers at seats though.

  • Just to add, the club were doing bogof on beers before the game...trying to get as many people inside for as long as possible. Seems like craziness to me.

  • Need to try and fill the stadium somehow.

  • The club has bills and staff to pay, I get that. No Ody is doing anything they are not free to do, just felt really weird to have so many people indoors with no masks or vaccine passport checks (which they did say they would be checking).

Football has been back for a few weeks now and I haven't heard anything about Covid outbreaks linked to it so maybe it's not as risky as I fear.

  • He's a very clever boy... Too bad your lot managed a win, this probably means you'll have to take Mrak every week now... 🍀

  • Anyone travelled to Spain recently? I'd like to know if the record card given when being jabbed here in the UK is accepted by the Spanish as proof of being vaccinated.

  • Can't you get your digital vaccine proof via the NHS app?

  • A copy of the NHS vaccination certificate with the QR code is. Not sure about the paper slip. Probably not, as they scan the QR code.
