The Tories are the Party of Stealth* tax rises:
Thatcher/Howe: VAT from 8 to 15%, (subsidises Income Tax reductions for Higher Earners)
Thatcher/Heseltine**: 'temporary' VAT increase from 15 to 17.5%, to resolve PollTax/Community Charge, (subsidises owners of larger properties),
Cameron/Osbourne; VAT 17.5 to 20% 'we're all in this together', to 'solve Austerty', ( to save the UK economy from reckless bank lending),
Johnson: NI up 1.25% to subsidise owners of larger properties(* 'Stealth' as in 'headline news',
**actually implemented by Major/Lamont after Thatcher was eviscerated).
