What/where do you want to demonstrate?
The 18-55 IS kit lens will struggle in low light/indoors but is cheap and usable outdoors and this model comes with stabalisation.

The field of view could be a little long for it to be a single lens.

You're probably mostly limited by price and availability rather than having much choice

Contact the school and ask.
I would suggest a basic kit lens, like one of the 18-55s and a fast prime, like the 50mm f/1.8 II. Though that all depends on what you will be doing. For example, you could equally do a lot with just the 28mm f/1.8.
