North side of Salter Fell, do recommend. The south side, significantly less so.

Forest of Bowland seems a bit of a misnomer, though a very pretty one at that

Skies cleared for a bit.. sacked off a meeting for this instead...

Indeed, don't think I saw a single tree on the moor in the eight mile section! Wikipedia states that it's a forest in more of the 'traditional hunting grounds' manner, for what that's worth.

There is the Portreath to Bissoe ' mineral tramway' nice gravelly ride and the newly opened west kernow way to start with

I know all the “known” trails. Just trying to find more hidden ones.

There's a handful of conifers at the northern end, just before you get to the farm/tarmac (if you're heading north). Think that's the best you'll get.

1st world, gravel related, problem here... I have a perfectly good kenisis tripster frame + fork and have been saving for 18 months for a santa cruz stigmata frame... well, I've saved the money now and it's decision time... they're in stock in my size at my lbs... bah
-
• #20987
you wont gain anything with this, put it in an ISA
-
• #20988
ISA rates are pathetic right now. Get the Stigmata
-
• #20989
That's a lot of money for the same thing.
Why don't you take £1.5k and go nuts on your tripster. Or buy an outstanding XC bike with the savings? Then you'd get something actually different

buy an outstanding XC bike
The real essence of this thread
-
• #20991
a stigmata will feel much better than an alloy kinesis. buy the stigmata and feel younger.
disclaimer : totally unsubstantiated claim
-
• #20992
Put the money into your pension, retire a few weeks earlier and get your riding in then.
-
• #20993
Send me the money. I'll send you monthly postcards of my riding my gravel bike on real gravel. Live vicariously.

Ok, tripster is already pretty tricked out, force axs, hope bits throughout... etc etc.. wheels are a bit meh tbf
I've lusted after the green stigmata frame from last year, and the lilac one is lovely in the flesh, plus it will make me feel younger (and thats a fact)...
I have a smashing xc/trail bike tbf...
I did preface this as a 1st world problem!!
I'll sleep on it some more and see what transpires I guess (& that may involve continuing the saving as Reilly Gradient T47 is also calling to me, but again, it's a lot of bloody money on a bike, innit??)

Usual advice is to get the Juliana version that usually has better paint colors.
A few friends have stigs for road/gravel and love it a lot, go for it imo. It's a classic.
That is pretty
