Not legal advice: if your insurance’s understanding of the events is what happened, then reiterate to your insurance that you stand by your claim. Ask them about a police report. IMO you’d be best protected by assuming the other guy is acting in bad faith.
Other not legal advice but rather reasonable suggestions: save everything you have relating to the event, even if you’ve already shared it with your insurance or the police as files can get corrupted or lost. If you were with someone, have them email a witness statement to you and your insurance now while it’s fresh in their memory. Id cease all contact with the guy, referring him to the insurance company.
Sorry you’re being messed about, especially since you were just being kind to a stranger.
((Or do as DethBeard suggests, probably best.))
A guy drove in to the back of my car. Going through insurance and when the insurance company contacted him, he's apparently denied all knowledge!
I took a photo of his car at the scene, which i've sent. We also exchanged a few texts and emails as he initially wanted to settle outside insurance - I've sent screen grabs.
It feels like a weird move on his part! Is there anything else i should be doing at this stage, seeing as he's actually denying it? Police? Or do i just leave it up to the insurance companies to sort out?
