  • Ah, a Chelsea fan who knows all about financial prudence;-)

I read that it's a 'bit of a' buyers market with a huge number of clubs (outside the prem) really struggling financially after Covid so I think if all the money is going to be reinvested it needs to be done now else I'd feel 'ok' with a few shrewd signings and some money of the going towards stadium. Seems that teenage midfielder Sarr is as good as done and 10m f0r a highly rated coveted player almost guarantees your investment. I'd like to trim the squad/midfield and get a defender, creative midfielder (a la modric style) and, being realistic and not wanting to spend £90m, Zaha (who I reckon would be available at a decent price). I'd also gladly take Adama if the price was good (<30m)

  • Sarr for 10m is excellent business. I think we were interested at one point, but have a few kids already on the way into the first team and didn't need another.
Adama is a headless chicken - amazing pace but very limited end product. Not going to get any better than he is IMO.

  • Yeah Sarr looks an excellent prospect at a great price. Agree to a point about Adama (see papers are reporting Spurs are in talks with Wolves) but he offers something nearly unique (not his limited end product) and at age 25 a small improvement in end product would be significant and would protect the investment - I'd not want to spend 40m as is being suggested though. He seemed to turn a corner for a few months last season (or was it the one before) where he was consistently putting the ball 'into an area' with great accuracy and consistency....until he stopped doing it all of a sudden!
