I still havenāt crumbled and bought the jacket - impending fatherhood means it would probably just get sick on right?
-
• #3878
also it's nearly Ā£500 for a chore jacket. Wouldn't an arpenteur do as well?
-
• #3879
Congrats. And yes.
-
• #3880
Itās a lot nicer than an arpenteur - the linen is lovely and heavy and it fits me great but yes itās a lil bit spenny

Does anyone have a Frahm jacket?
I am tempted with a Thermal Parka, but it is also Ā£556...I am taller and paunchy-er than the average human.
Whilst it is possible to get the belly to shrink, my height will always be there. -

Yup, I do have a jacket from them (thanks @dancingĀ james ).
The fit is perfect, I'm tallish (189cm) and have long arms, so I took a punt on one of their field jackets because the Vulpine Harrington jacket was so good and if they'd made a field jacket of the right size and to similar quality then that was what I wanted.
No regret buying it, it remains perfect and is one of my most used jackets now. 16 months later and it is still like new despite being worn a hell of a lot whilst hiking, carrying rucksacks, etc and going through woodland. It's basically awesome, and would recommend their jackets in general.

You admitted owning a pricey jacket. Golf club membership confirmed.

Cheers, I'm still trying to convince myself on the cost.
My common issue is that my arm span is greater than my height (202cm vs 198cm) so sleeves can come up a little short.
According to their site I am either XL-tall or XXL, I will contact them directly and see what they recommend. They have a good returns policy, so worst case is I get my money back.

A jacket is a piece of clothing, and decent clothing lasts a good long while and saves money.
Add me to golf club when my mortgage is paid off and I'm sunning it up somewhere or retired early.

It was tongue in cheek. I am fully aware that buying nice things that last is better than buying cheap and twice.

This is why I bought a Rolls Royce Wraith rather than a Ford Fiesta that wouldn't last half as long.
(obvs kidding, Wraiths are ugly)

Both Anglo italian boat shoes and barchetta jacket are very nice

barchetta jacket
That slanted breast pocket is awful and would annoy me forever. Please don't wear this when we next do beer.
-
• #3891
I usually hate boat shoes due to the negative associations with their usual occupants, but these are actually probably the nicest example of the genre I've seen...
-
• #3892
They are very comfortable

• #3893
Yeah, and the Telegraph has a great sports section... š¤·āāļø
-
• #3894
Thatās why itās called the barchetta though bc of the angled breast pocket which curves up.
Itās a nice jacket. The linen resort shirts are super lovely.I have some Yuketen mocassins which are very similar to the boat shoes

Yeah, those are the most mocassin-y boat shoes I've ever seen. If it wasn't for the laces going around the back of the shoe, they'd be straight up moc's. Imagine wearing a crepe sole on the wet deck of a boat. Ha!

Slippery af
The canoe moc is the Yuks that I got and they are great probs couldāve sized down further
-
• #3898
Is there anywhere in London that stocks yuketen? Clutch cafe?
-
• #3899
Yeah.
@Tenderloin - yeah, Yuk Moc's come up properly big due to stretch at the seams. When I got my Angler's, Yuki told me to buy them tight. Glad I listened to him. They're a US 9.5E whereas I wear a US 10.5 in every other shoe brand.
