Dell outlet.
But in case you need something in the interim and you're not already using Linux its worth having a live copy of one of the light distros on USB: https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/create-a-usb-stick-on-ubuntu#1-overview
I had to use my old personal laptop to get the printer to work which is from 2010 but running Ubuntu mate. It's staggering how much snappier* it is than my 5yo W10 laptop.
*provided you're not using too many programs obviously
Just had an assessment for a job: was given 120 minutes to write a briefing. My gf bought the cheapest laptop at carphone warehouse two years ago and has been adamant about not wanting to upgrade or any more electronics in the house. I ready-boosted the thing with a 4Gb USB, kept my browser tabs to the minimum (it was still a lot), and cleared cookies etc before the assessment.
Fcking thing froze on me repeatedly. I estimate I lost between 14-16 minutes of screen time, mostly at the end when I was actually writing the report and couldn’t use my phone. I don’t think I’ll get the job.
Devil take me, I’m buying a laptop. Any good deals?
(before I catch flak, if it’s not clear I Hate this … laptop; I’m not going to complain about my relationship)
