My partner seems to have an inability to close the damn freezer, almost every time she's taken something out I'll find it a couple of 2cm open a while later. And of course by then it won't really close again because of all the new ice in the way, and guess who has to deal with it.
Lol
Mine does the same but she'll open the fridge, take stuff out, then continue with her business in the kitchen, fridge door wide open! When challenged over it, she's says she's still collecting stuff from it and doesn't understand my frustration.
Often as I'm moving about the kitchen with her, I'll have to close it when I can clearly see she's been distracted by the tasks at hand. I can only shug my shoulders...

My folks one has an alarm, which is a really useful feature I think. Maybe have a look at that when you buy one.
Ours came with the house and doesn't seal that well, so in fairness it's quite easy to not fully close. Plus child no.1 sometimes opens it.
It just seems wasteful throwing something as unrecyclable as a freezer
away for the inconvenience of having to defrost a few times a year. This fancy steamer, is it a kettle?
No its my mum's massive Italian steamer. I assume she hasn't reclaimed it as its a fucker to store. But due to the time pressure I am also forced to go old school and fill up bowls with boiling water.

Dell outlet.
But in case you need something in the interim and you're not already using Linux its worth having a live copy of one of the light distros on USB: https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/create-a-usb-stick-on-ubuntu#1-overview
I had to use my old personal laptop to get the printer to work which is from 2010 but running Ubuntu mate. It's staggering how much snappier* it is than my 5yo W10 laptop.
*provided you're not using too many programs obviously

It's a shame that a gang of wandering kids smashed all of the windows and slashed all the tires.

I could hear all their voices, shouting "white van wanker, you park like a cunt, what an absolute fucking arsehole" and could hear a lot of smashing, but just couldn't see anything out the window.

I caught them grabbing something from the van when they arrived in their other van and told them to sling their hook, is a couple of independent contractors fitting part of the sprinkler system upstairs.
they were fine about it and i was perhaps a bit too snappy/aggressive as I was actively stewing over it when they happened past but they shifted straight away and made the woman who illegally parks blocking the disabled bays round by the front door move so now she's parked in front of our windows instead (she's also the one who owns the 2 dogs that keep attacking my pup from the dogs thread) so now she will be loading unloading her dogs into the car 6ft from where my dog sleeps. can't fucking win.

Are the windows considered a fire escape route? Is it possible to ask at the local fire station if they consider this an issue?
-
• #16689
To stop it happening again, could you put a big planter under the window?

I did this for the first time yesterday and I still feel dirty for it. Supposedly it does wonders for engagement ✨ but I don't think I can bring myself to keep doing it.

I follow someone who will often screenshot one of their own tweets that they find particularly funny, make a post out of it and then also put it in their story to really get it out there. Always gets to me when they do it.

bullshit, time filler "getting to know you" sessions at work where we are expected to divulge personal info about ourselves that has fuck all bearing on how effective we are at our jobs. i get that one of your bonus targets is to "increase team cohesion" or some shit but this benefits no one.
i like you not knowing a bunch of shit about what i get up to when i'm not at work, it's how i know i'm not at work.
fuck off, stop wasting everyone's time.

The basic problem here is employers wanting employees to gel together.
Why?
I have been paid certain amount of money for certain amount of work and sometimes time, so I will do that and go live my life.
-
• #16700
Why?
Because it makes work a nicer place to be and you spend loads of time there.
they do.
