Anyone know what kind of seatpost binder bolt I need. Hole is around 6mm ID, collar is integrated, 30mm ish across the flats on the collar.

I've been on the hunt for one of these myself! So far all I've found is a Pitlock security bolt.

Any idea what it should look like?

Fitted to a 90s Rockhopper. I'm sure it could be cut a bit shorter, just never got around to it.

My 94' Specialized catalogue shows all the MTBs with QR seatpost bolts. Why not just get a nice anodised/polished nut and bolt if you don't fancy QR? Doubt there's a bike specific binder bolt out there that'll bridge the gap (other than the pitlock above!)
edit: Pro-bolt do nice looking stuff for motorbikes - might suit.

Here's the Stumpjumper page from the '94 catalogue if you're curious.

I didn't want QR for locking up around town.
I honestly couldn't find a nice one! Didn't think to try motorbike stuff though

To be honest I would like a nice anodised QR lever, but struggling to find many listed anywhere!

Looks like this is in great condition - looking forward to the build!

Lovely. Which bars did you opt for in the end?
Edit: sorry, look like 2522s.

The bars are Nitto B354AAF, hope my wife likes them :)

Been showing my better half the proposed setup which is 3x7 but she is much more interested in a 1x setup, so I'm thinking 1x10.
I guess I'd need to swap to an external BB and more modern crank to make this happen.
Any thoughts?

Not necessarily. I'm guessing (just from looking at your photos) the crankset is 110mm bcd. There's tonnes of 5 x 110 narrow-wide chainrings, from Wolf tooth, Hope, Superstar, Raceface, Fovno etc.

I nearly bought that... sounds like I swerved a bad one. Build looking cool though.

Yeah, that looks pretty decent TBH. Also like the anodised bolt covers.

To be fair he refunded me instantly, but still annoying as it looked the business.

Realising that 1x10 means a new rear hub.
Maybe this https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/hubs-cassette-rear/32-shimano-deore-fht610-rear-cassette-hub-silver/

little tangent from this awesome build: that splatter paint is rad. link to build/photos?

Oh, I totally missed the thread, glad the frame arrived in one piece. Looks like you'll do a much better job than what we had here! Dry fit with telescope stem and triple looked amazing

Or just bolt a different freehub on and dish the wheel over a couple of mm?
-
• #48
I would but working out what freehub to buy is difficult!

Hijack welcome, amazing build my man.

Got a refund from Ebay, so will send it back.
