Condenser is what manufacturers recommend (or at least heatpumps will not recommend below 10°c). They are also cheap, DIY repairable and don't require any drilling holes in walls either.
However, they are less efficient and people like soul are using heatpumps in uninsulated garages with no problems

What was the concensus on a tumble dryer in the garage? Heat pump, condenser, vented?
