a major distraction/time sink
No idea what you're talking about

As an experienced flouncer, the time sink thing rings true, but also in combination with finding things negative on the forum.
I don't really know Dov, but remember him being really nice in person when I crashed and needed an ambulance at HHV years ago. I hope he is back at some stage.

These were the things he cited when we chatted about this.
I think the drama queens who want or need conflict assume flouncing though, sometimes it might be but in this case I think it is the time sink, and the toxic undertones in a lot of the discourse that led to his departure.

I am assuming the tired trope of invoking him as the spokesperson for all of of Brexit may have worn a little thin.

Shame to lose Dov. Hope he'll still be around in real life at times. With him, I'd imagine his decision to leave would be final, but hopefully I'll be proven wrong.

What do you mean? It’s a fact that it’s time consuming, distractive and addictive. The most goes at the expense of the employer, family and other activities that will never happen. It’s fun but I’m not surprised if plenty more will leave or get numb later later. Everything that goes up…

is there a way to have dot watching races as a category (within rides and races) ?

• #19186
Agreed, came here to post.

Yay, good idea.

Ah damn... Just saw Dov asked to be nuked. Sad to hear he's left. He was a positive for this place.

• #19190
Don't really get the point. Just log off and get someone to change your password if it's all got too much.

• #19191
Very sad.

change your password
What is this "password" of which you speak?

• #19193
Clearly been a while since I've logged in/out. "Remove the auth" then.
It's also simple enough to block the site and only allow someone else to allow back through.
Small roadblocks to usage rather than blatting an account. The content is still there too so 'deleting' is even less useful. -

Simple for hackers like us, but normal people are not like us 🙂

Nuked.

Is there a way to remove someone (added by mistake) from a group DM list? Apologies if this is explained somewhere else, could not find.
-
• #19199
No, they have to remove themselves.
Who should have this ability? The person who invited them? The person who created the first PM?
-
• #19200
Good question, I can see how picking either might be tricky in case that's not the same person.
Not an issue in this instance as the one added by mistake has not accessed the forum in years
This is what I assumed.
