I was just looking at this... I was on a stag do this weekend and one of the guys was in the regiment they made it for. He had the black rubber strap and it was a really nice watch.

ordered it from a shop in the US
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181730556322?hash=item2a4ffc39a2:g:D0EAAOxyKsZRuhEpGreat, I'll take a closer look at the weave in comparison to the one I have now.

what width is it? If it's 22mm I'll take if off your hands if you don't want it. I'm surprised to hear it doesn't breath very well.
I found these woven Nato straps but not ordered one to try, might breath well

Thanks, but the strap is 20mm and I'd better hang onto it until I find something better.
The main issue for me is that it is not a very open weave like the old Timefactors one I bought in the early 00s, where one could see though the gaps in the threads and that worked fine in hot dry Mediterranean summers.

The date windows look VERY tiny

there are some very lose weave single pass perlon straps that should be nice and breezy, the only part I don't like about them is how the watch nearly slides off every time I take it off my wrist.
https://www.watchobsession.co.uk/products/perlon-braided-one-piece-watch-strap-buckle-in-dark-blue?variant=3496452229I'm considering buying some tiny rivets to hold it in place.

recommendations for a small spring bar tool?
All the ones I have are too big for the Pelagos and don't fit.Really needs drilled lugs for the tool nature of the watch.

I'm still trying to source an original Perlon Eulit Air-Look strap, for the ultimate in airiness.

Odd that they're putting this in some windows now? The same with the new OP range as well. Not my image. Initially I found it funny as they're just mugging us all off even more but then wouldn't this just create more hype for people that have never seen them in real life and boost interest even more, making it even more challenging? I think this will tip many over the edge of no longer giving a shit. A way to turn off the flippers? You have to sign a document stating you won't flip with a new purchase as far as I'm aware, not that, that will stop many.

Perhaps they're trying to cool demand by showing how underwhelming* they are in real life?
for a 12k grey-market steel watch

It’s annoying that I love it both on bracelet and NATO.

Looks really excellent on that grey nato. Where’s it from?

Get the Pelagos and keep that on bracelet, this one on nato. Put an end to the strap changes!
Not a problem since early 2020
