I love table service at pubs. Waiting to get served at a bar used bug the shit out of me.

Yeah! Waiting for some thick fuck to order for his mates and then another four Guinness please......

I used to work with a guy called Jim who was a natural at the bar. you could send him up to a crowded bar and he would always come back with a fistful of beers after being served really quickly.

My sister had a date once with a guy who waved a twenty at the bar (A: when people used cash and B: when £20 was a lot of money). Once he had the barman's attention he put the note away and paid with a fiver (C: when you could get two drinks for a Lady Godiva).

Nah, being told to sit down and wait really bugged me. I avoid crowded bars anyway. I really missed being able to talk to staff, however briefly, and look at what's on tap

Best thing that Wetherspoons ever did imho (assuming they were the first). Ordering a pint without having to speak to somebody and do small talk and having it delivered to your table? Yes please!
