If you've flown to Japan to race and flat in the MTB, would you not get on a spare bike and finish? Sink or whatever his name is didn't seem to take that long to get back to the pits (unless he'd bailed and walked directly there? I presume you have to cover the full course). You could rejoin the race and have a Bradbury happen.
