I screwed in the B screw until there was enough space between RD and cassette as shown in the amateur youtube instruction videos. I wasn't aware I could fuck that up too.
It's not about where the B-screw is, it's more about where you've clamped the RD on itself (which does impact the B, but that's not primary concern).
