    He did. It was a good wheel. I don't think he had enough in the tank to get past though or maybe he wasn't up for tangling with barriers.

    If he had, I think he would have gone to the right before Philipsen got there.

    Don’t think he was in good condition after the last mountains, was already saying he would like his team to sit in the bunch and rest before the start of that day.

    Still, not bad for someone who wasn’t expected to even be there.

    A bad injury now and it’s probably game over, also it just the impact of having kids and age combined, would he have taken that risk a few years ago, probably.

    Only so many times you can face getting smashed into a barrier I suppose.
