Well they just started it here for people who had AZ for their first jab. The doctor said the belief was that the field tests would show the same results as the lab tests.

Efficacy quite clear reads to me?

Fully vaccinated Health Secretary tests positive 48 hours before his planned lifting of all restrictions. A sign if ever I’ve seen one.
-
• #22755
He’s also been visiting care homes during the week for photo opportunities. Full House of Commons from next week isn’t it?
-
• #22757
Yeah, a little trip to hospital and perhaps a couple of days on a ventilator for the Ayn Rand prick would help the rest of the country out, but that didn’t work on Johnson!

Does Johnson have to self isolate as a result of this? Presumably he must have met with Javid recently.
Will he have to give his triumphant speeches on his #FreedomDay, whilst isolating in Downing Street? What a massive cock.

Nah. He’s deleted the app.

So Johnson and Sunak avoid having to self-isolate because they are part of a pilot of a special type of testing. Which no-one knew about until this morning.
Utter bullshit.

• #22761
They've just undermined whatever credibility that app had; why would anyone else now that they've seen the rules don't apply to rich Tories. They literally don't learn - it's like another castle visit moment

No, Michael Gove was also part of the pilot last month. Which no-one knew about until that morning.

The levels of don't-give-a-fuck have been turned up to 11.
I suppose it could be seen as an interesting sociological experiment on how far people will go if they always get away with whatever they want/whatever they screw up. -

Johnson has been doing it his whole life

It's not obvious yet (I'm sure more details will come out today) of who else has been able to take advantage of this pilot. So far I've read about Gove (wanted to watch The Footballs) and Sunak and Johnson (cba to isolate for the summer).
I wonder how many non ministers have been able to take advantage? And the scheme must have been open to members of the opposition as well? And it must have been open to applicants across the country and with different working patterns to make it a valid test?

Link in this tweet, but key part is "participants will be placed into study groups at random"

The trial is definitely open to civil servants as a friend was almost on it (she missed a call, Track and Trace left a voicemail but never called back).

Is this corruption?

This pilot has been in the news a little over the last week as people have been complaining that it was three Westminster ministries in it rather than other firms
I think Gove's was actually a different pilot to the one Johnson and Sunak are claiming to be part of
Javid was in the Commons multiple times last week, be interesting if any MP's isolate or they all were in the pilot group

Fucking hell - what a shitshow.

How did we end up with these clowns in Government? I wouldn’t trust them to run a bath.

No wonder Armando Iannuci gave up writing ‘the thick of it’, it’s impossible to satire this government

For srs tho - What happened to evidence-based medicine?
[Edit] So apparently mixing and matching is a thing, though not particularly well evidenced in terms of efficacy.
