  • Not sure on the Neo fighter construction but just wanted to check you have axle pins in for the hex wheel mounts?

  • Ah. that's it thanks. The dangers of building with a small boy...

  • Noice.

See this rere is out in the autumn...

I have too many as is.

  • Ooh I fancy that one...

  • I had vague plans to build a TT02 Volvo 850 estate, but dithered too long on buying the shell, now it's OOS 😭

  • Where did you see that?

  • Ooooh, that's nice!

  • So much want for a cossack escort!

The escort kit hasn't even made it to NZ yet though :(

  • It's for sale.😁

  • Shell was a ControlFreax one, on L&L models.

  • Ahh right. I hoped it was a re-release from Tamiya.

I haven't seen an L&L shell in the flesh but the ones I have seen on the line look as if they lack the refinement of Tamiya.

  • #oldbutgold 😎

  • Have to say it's not without its problems.

I have changed the notoriously bad hex drive to frog half shafts. But now the issue is the drive is too much for the rear suspension mounts and the shafts keep popping out of the cups.

  • Should say that is a 2S lipo through a brushed modified.

  • Anyone remember the RC place just outside CP park. Think it was on Anerly Hill. What was it called again?

  • That was 30-odd years ago, wasn’t it?

  • I've been in there as a kid/teenager and I'm 30yo this year, so no

I'm pretty sure was '[something] RC'

That probably doesn't help but considering how many ppl are still taking their cars to CP park I assume someone remembers it.

    @Howard ?

  • I only vaguely remember it. I have this very blurry memory of the shop which was dead small inside, but I think I only went in there once. I don’t know why we never used them. Tended to go to Beatties in Lewisham for Tamiya stuff and Eltham Models for everything else. Were they more focussed on 1/8 on-road cars for the track?

  • But I could of course have dreamed all that up, lol…

  • You know, my memory is also blurry. I mainly went to visit with a friend who was way more into RC cars than I was.
He had a powerful electric one and a petrol one (which I don't think he used on the CP track)
I'd just go with him and stare at all the cool stuff.
If memory serves, I think they had a decent selection of boats and components as well.

Where does everyone go in London these days or is it mostly online for shopping?

  • China/Hong Kong.
    Maybe Japan too.
