Not that keen to shlep over to Mayfair so I think I'll save Relais de Venise for another time when I can go to City branch.
So Blacklock or Macellaio looking favourites.

Yeah black lock is good - good chops and the garlic bread at the bottom which soaks up all the juices. I always find it quite dark and loud but does fit the bill nicely

Went to RC Macellaio. 100% goodness.

Tempted to deduct 1% for the Murcan bros on the next table ordering their steak medium and banging on about McKinsey and becoming partners in investment banks.
But I'm sure they are lovely people at heart so I'm letting it slide.

45 minute queue at Dim Sum Duck. I blame you @Tenderloin
TBF that’s not long, but it’s 4pm already and I’m hungry. Roti King to the rescue.

Oh sheeeeit - last time we were there they said Sunday’s were the worst with queues round the block. It’s delicious but yeah ain’t many seats going!
Roti king a pretty solid fallback

A minutes walk from Zaibatsu, which is another great Japanese restaurant.

Had a lovely overnight in Ramsgate the other day.
Trained it to Faversham, then rode my bike round the coast a bit to Ramsgate, was a lovely ride, and great to get away from London.
The overall purpose was to visit the Hearth Pop-Up:
https://www.facebook.com/empireroomrestaurant/
Food was excellent. £50.00 for three courses, so not bad value. Obviously me & Mrs Jangle bumped that up a lot by drinking too much wine.
Well worth the trip.

Any (evening) menu recommendations at Blacklock City? https://theblacklock.com/city/menus/
Am contemplating a mix of pre-chop bites then the rib eye with chips and barbequed baby gems & anchovy dripping.
I shouldn't be looking at this now after a ride...

I’ve only ever gone ‘all in’, but never regretted it…
-
• #1242
That does look like a good prospect. God I'm hungry.

The pre chop bites are ok, but nothing amazing. Definitely go for the sheep's head on toast, it's incredible.
They often have other cuts of beef up on the blackboard listed by weight so you can choose the cut you fancy then figure out how hungry you are.
I also highly recommend the bread and gravy as a side.

Looking for something West (of Chelsea preferably) for dinner for two, with good outside seating. What's out there at the moment?
River Cafe is all booked up.
-
• #1245
Haven't been as not my neck of the woods but Fenn has gotten some strong reviews.
Worth putting your name down at River cafe as they have cancellations -

Thanks. Really can’t wait.
Separately, does anyone have any restaurant recommendations in Falmouth? Staying for a couple of nights next month. Never been.

Looking for somewhere to eat in Edinburgh next weekend. Something central ideally, thanks.

Budget, occasion, style?
Cafe Marlayne, central, French, reasonable
Cafe St Honore, bistro, round the corner from Cafe Marlayne, pricier
Whighams, Charlotte Sq, basement
Le DeVin, west end, wine bar
La P'tit Folie, French, pricier, upstairs at Le DeVin -

Sorry, not very helpful was it?
Not an occasion, but in town for one night, so happy to spend a bit more than normal. Style wise, anything goes, just want something memorable.
Thanks for the suggestions above, I’ll take a look.
Awesome!
