Looks like a warranty to me.
Normally when you shift up without spinning the cranks (and thus the chain not actually going up gears) your derailleur stops after 3 shifts since it feels the extra resistance of your chain still being 3 gears back. Looks like exactly the same is happening here, your derailleur somehow gets more resistance than it expects.
So I guess, send it back :)
yeah my girlfriend filmed it and she's a bit useless... yes i can push it all the way up so not a limit screw issue. it does whizz a bit like its trying but very quietly and sounds like its struggling
