I used an 80 grit pad that had worn down a bit so probably equivalent to 100.
A hair dryer will loosen the glue to allow you to scrape it off the surface gently.

That taping job is criminal. Good luck bringing it back, hopefully it will play lovely.

The bat care and knocking in are a good rabbit hole to go down.

There’s a kiwi bat company called Fantail. Their videos are so relaxing.

Very short boundary on one side doesn’t help. Pressure’s on though.

Comprehensive win. England top order not good enough today. Some very cheap wickets. Livingstone immense with only bits and bobs at the other end.

Bairstow still not a white ball keeper.

in ss jumbo news, i gave it a sand and oil, then knocked it in for a bit and it came out lovely. still heavy as a mf, but looks good.
i went out to bat with us needing about 10 an over yesterday and the first hit was down near the bottom of the batt (off centre) it sounded like a broom handle and left a massive ding from the seam. more knocking in required. i did middle the next one and hit it about three hundred rows back! amazing! a proper tonk.
then i nicked one behind...

Same. I hate it. Captain wanted the strike too so we had to keep running stupid singles. I was melting from 40 overs at cover and then umpiring at square leg. We lost by a fair old margin in the end.

I'll be honest, I cant say the time I spent hours hammering my bat with a mallet was particularly fun...

Sounds like my day
I dropped one in the deep late in the innings, too, when I should have been on the boundary.

I did it for about an hour. I looked up taking it to a shop, but that feels a bit wrong.

Really thought Livingston was gonna come in and win it with 2 sixes
Cheers. What grade sandpaper are we talking? I think I'll need to do that before oiling. I got the chunky residue with the white spirit, but there is probably a film of it still there.
