Yeah definitely, all their enamellers seem to have come from the jewellery courses at Glasgow and Edinburgh and they’re interesting artists in their own right.
The fumé dials are, I believe, a method that they’ve invented and developed, where instead of overlaying a darker tint around the edges the gradient effect is achieved by using a domed base plate, so that more of the enamel (ie melted glass) collects at the edges and so becomes less translucent:

Good point! I hope they do. She'll be visiting with somebody who is a Glasgow based ceramacist with an interest in Japanese enamelling techniques and who hadn't heard of them so would be really interesting for her to see one.
