Surely this is the last nail in the coffin for his MMA career
If Poirier wins the title from Olivera, Connor will be his first defence (if he can recover from the injury). Not that the ufc needs any excuse but they'll use the injury as every justification for it. Poirier will definitely want it as he'll make 10 times as much fighting Connor than anyone else and he'll be thinking it's easy money at this point.

For all of his talent he looks like his made out of pillows and glass. Can't see anything other than him getting ragdollled by the top guys.
