  • Dibs one taco stem 🌮 😜

  • What specs?

  • Working on @JensArne 's frame today. Finished off the internal cable routing and while I had the torch on, I continued working on the cargo bike gas pipe stem.

  • More on the road bike.

Bottle bosses are done and internal routing is almost done. Just needs a bit of emory cloth.

I did the seat tube clamp slot on the mill today. Normally I just eye ball it post welding the frame, but the new me did it while drilling holes for bottle cage bosses. The result speaks for itself.

I am really digging this more considered and thoughtful process that comes with experience. If only my TIG welding would look a bit more pro.

Hopefully I'll be able to do the flat mounts on Sunday and then tack the frame. Everything is moving a long slowly but I am feeling pretty good about the process and the end result will be better if I take my time and keep testing and practicing.

  • Super clean. You're right to be happy, it looks dialled.

  • Quality posts, great looking welds

  • Progress on JensArnes road bike.

I've made a thing so I can attach my jig to my workstand making welding in the jig a lot easier.

I've setup the mill to machine holes for flatmounts tonight, once that is done I can start welding.

  • Tasty stuff.

  • Syntace dropouts again I note. Nice.

  • Yes! I think they suit the flatmount cylindrical aesthetic

  • Thanks 😊

  • Tacked

  • I ran out of argon gas yesterday. My wife had the car today so I'll have to wait to pick up gas tomorrow. This means I haven't been able to progress on the frame I am building.
To make the best of the down time I got started on modding my road bike.

  • Will you need to put any bridges back in between the stays, or do you reckon it'll be ok without? As always, great post(mount)s

  • Thanks. I will make some curved bridges for mudguards if I fancy those down the line

  • i really like your post mount solution - super neat, and prossibly adds in a bit of triangulation/strength into the rear triangle to mitigate disc brake forces as well?

going to keep the DBAD sticker? :)

  • Thanks. I've done a similar solution on @JesperXT 's All Road. It is quite easy, cheap and strong and actually more elegant than most flatmounts imo.

DBAD might go on then chainstay post paint. No matter what it is forever in my heart ♥

  • Does that solution rely at all on the strength of the actual calliper? For instance I assume Hope hydro callipers would be pretty sturdy, but something like a Spyre maybe less so.

  • I guess so. I have seen any issues with it yet. Time will tell, but I imagine it will be alright.

  • Current colour considerations...

    Either 7002 or 7003.

I was considering 5020 as well, but I am more into 7002 I reckon 😉
