ow long has science been experimenting with mRNA method to deliver immunity?

According to wikipedia the idea first came up in the early 90s. Took until 2010/2011 for first research into use for human pandemics (US military research). First use in humans was for Covid last year.

So the mRNA immunity delivery technology is sound, it is not something new as such just new for human use when it was needed.

Does that make sense?

I have no idea! But I assume it is sound because people much more intelligent and educated than myself tell me it is safe and that the benefits outweigh any possible negatives.
