  • Yeah, she seemed fine. Was laughing and chatting from a bed by the time I left.

Needle fear and anxiety are real.

  • Hope she's OK, and also hope it was due to the anxiety of the situation and not the jab itself (still not a great thing for her, obviously).

    Or even possibly Munchausen's.

A paramedic friend said that the closure of easy access to GP surgeries and many other regular facilities many more of the attention seekers have moved on to bothering A&E and even 999.

  • Certainly didn't seem like an anaphylaxis reaction

  • Needle fear and anxiety are real.

For sure. I can't imagine the level of stress it would cause being absolutely terrified of something that you know you want to/should do. ms_com has it bad, although it has been somewhat desensitised following pregnancy, they get stuck A LOT.

  • An acquaintance with needle anxiety had her #2 jab yesterday, and apparently took beta blockers to get her through it (from her GP?).

  • Having low blood pressure can also make you dizzy/pass out when you have a needle

  • I think I forgot how much I don't like needles (always gets a laugh when I tell people being that I'm fairly well tattooed including a lot of handpoke I've done on myself) when I signed up for the vaccine trial.

They've taken 3 or 4 vials of blood at every appointment so far. Been the same female nurse a couple times and hardly feel it but the guy that stuck me when I was in for dose 2 wasn't so great.!

  • Had my second Pfizer today. First at Guys, second at Lewisham Hospital.
Got a message to say i could have the second early as was previously booked for end of July.
Was hesitant about cancelling but there were loads available. Low level tingling, funny taste in mouth again and some general muscular ache but all good otherwise. How long before the second dose shows in the NHS app?
    God bless the NHS.

  • How long before the second dose shows in the NHS app?

    24 hours in my experience.

  • How many weeks between?

  • 8 weeks, 4 days.
I think once you hit the magical 8 week mark, you're good to go now.

  • Ah yes. I re booked and was offered 8 weeks. But is talk of people getting after 3. But guardian was saying that is technically not allowed but some places are doing it.

  • You can’t book less than 8 weeks but a lot of the walk-in pop up places seem to do it, although they don’t advertise it.

  • Just cancelled and rebooked mine, bringing forward to exactly 8 weeks after the first. Had to choose a different venue as the other was was all booked up, but the new one is better for me anyway.

  • Yea there's walk-ins for #2 that'll let you have it between 3-8 weeks. Had my second Pfizer at 5 weeks today.

  • Finally got my effing proof of vaccination app thing working. Stupid Sweden waiting until the last minute to get things in order as usual. Not that I have any trips abroad planned but nice to finally be able to prove I’m vaccinated throughout the EU. Concerts in Copenhagen are a glimmer of hope on the horizon again.

  • I had AZ 2 about 24 hours ago, no side effects or ill feeling.

I do, however, still have a sore arm from the first one in early May. Obviously not debilitating, but a pretty annoying side effect that I wasn't expecting. The guy giving the vaccine reckoned not to worry because his was still sore from when he had his done; in January.

  • Got my 1st shot of Pfizer 1.5 hours ago. Zero pain so far, hopefully it stays this way. Girlfriend's arm pain completely vanished under 2 days too.

  • Anyone any idea what would happen if I had my second Pfizer in UK (walk in) after having my first in NL (where I live)? Unsure if it would mean I end up in a no-mans land of only having proof of one in each country rather than fully vaccinated.

  • Pfizer 1 done, was sat in the observation room 3 minutes after walking in, couldn’t have gone smoother. Im also interested in getting my second jab as a walk-in in a different country, Germany seems to give the QR code based on the stamps in your vaccine passport so I think it should work. But I think I’ll play it safe to avoid bureaucratic purgatory.

  • Got my second Pfizer shot last night a whole month ahead of time due to surplus at my local GP. Same as with the first one have flu like symptoms and sore arm.

  • I'm in this situation. You need to speak to someone, not on lfgas. I'm trying to port my uk vaccine into the system here, then its registered here. Call nhs or your doctor if you have one.

Getting the shot is probebrly easier, but getting it registered means you get the vaccine passport.

  • Mr Hedge had Pfizer 2 yesterday afternoon. Felt like pure shit from minutes after the jab for about five hours and then was 100% fine thereafter. No vivid dreams overnight uike dose 1 and is fine today.

  • Do you talk about yourself in the third person now?

  • Looks like a typo, 'Mr' for 'Ms'.
