  • Trialing my setup for a weekend's bikepacking in the Lakes in a couple of weeks time. Will be my first time so wanted to gauge pace etc with the extra load.

  • Is that Chew Valley lake?

  • Yes! Had a good ride out to the Mendips today, 7.5hrs in total and found some new bridleways.

  • Near Newlands corner

  • Nice, you ride out from Bristol? Done a good amount of walking and road riding round there, yet to take the mtb.

  • Not quite the scenery of some others in this thread but had a lovely ride in Surrey with the leopard boys today aka Pat Butcher Cycling Club

  • Cheers, was quite the trip following Komoot’s suggestions, which let to some unrideable sections on the road bike from time to time. All-in, more than 8 hours in the saddle, a dirty bike and a sweaty arse. Perfect!

I actually planned a big trip yesterday as the forecast for today was terrible, woke up to clear skies and sunshine.... 🤌🏻

  • great pics! love the gravel tunnel

  • Where is this? Looks amazing!

  • Cheers! This is Veneto region in Italy, area between Trento and Rovereto.

  • ah, nice. my sister in law lives not too far from there, near pordenone.

  • River picnic

  • Gotcha, towards Udine.

I reckon anything north from Pordenone translates into amazing riding. Not been there myself.

Valdobbiadene is also a great area to ride, which is west of Pordenone.

  • Just the one day on the Baum this weekend; 130km and 1800m elevation - Monte Grappa it was. Sweating my ass off though, 34 degrees today.

  • Some pics from this weekend's #jennride in the lakes. Brutal 2 day off road challenge.

  • Looks great, where is that?

  • Lake District. Started in Staveley and seemed to take in every possible climb in the region!!

  • So you got lucky with the weather too! Great stuff 👍

I’ll be spamming this thread soon as we’re doing John O’Groats to Land’s End starting this Saturday. Please may the wind be on our side.

  • Good luck, make sure you post plenty of pics,. That is something I have always wanted to do. Are you doing it with an organised group or solo?

  • I will try to, can’t wait to see Scotland.

I posted this a while ago with all the details: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/363501/
