Little train journey to Hebden bridge will give you loads of options for sketchy routes to just about hold on to as you ping between rocks and roots the locals just jump over with painful climbs back up in between, and Hebden is lovely, but you'll probably need a local guide and I don't know the area quite well enough to help.

The Ogden route is pretty decent up there, I've done it a few times, would recommend. There's a slightly longer one that starts in Hebden Bridge.

Any one interested in some Renthal Fatbar Carbon risers 31.8mm clamp, 25mm rise?
These are used but only ever fitted using a torque wrench.
Also only ever paired with a matching Renthal Duo stem.I’ve also got a BNIB Renthal Duo 31.8 clamp 40mm reach stem.
I bought it thinking I was running a longer one and wanted to try shorter.
It would seem I’m an idiot on at least two fronts, as the one I had was 40mm and also managed to drop this marking the gold/underside meaning I couldn’t return.£40 bars
£40 stem
£75 for the pair
Price includes postage

Ah man that's tempting, just gone slightly higher rise and liking it though, plus no money until 1st.

Although I think that stem would put things in basically the same place, how much of a rush are you in for the money?
-
• #21034
No real rush, I’ve had the stem sitting on the sideboard for about 8/9months.
If you’re definitely wanting it (them if the bars too) I’ll happily sit on them til you’ve got the cash*.*how long roughly?

If that's cool with you I get paid on 1st and will take them off your hands.

The blue is great fun, nice and flowy.
Did you try the black? It's not hard in terms of skills, just a lot of effort (fucking massive hills)

Farmer John’s is brilliant now, they’ve packed loads into a small space and now have a cafe and bike shop too

I'll have to head over next time there's a race on.

It's just the starting bid with 8 days to go, too early to say.

Thanks. Maybe I should rephrase, what would be a good price for this?
-
• #21047
Looks like a pretty good deal to me, a way to get a good hardtail for not much money.
My only quibble is have the forks ever been serviced
-
• #21048
Thanks, I've now asked about this.

Frame is nice, and the rest of the bits are decent if not special. If it goes for near starting price it would be a good deal I think.

Yep - the risk with used Mtb is largely fork related - if they are borked, buying new replacements is going to be £££ and buying a used replacement is going to be gambling again. If they need a full service, its going to be around £150 form somewhere like TF tuned.
If it all works as it should, around a grand would still be a good price IMO. Finishing kit is pretty low end. Bit odd he hasn't put the cranks on...I'd maybe ask about that and whether the BB is ok. You'll need to spend £150ish on a dropper (this bike makes zero sense without one), plus the mech and chain - So at least another £200 to get it rolling properly.
Clayton's got a bit shit, and it didn't start great, Phillip's park is better up Salford way but still improved by using an old rigid 26er because it's all easy stuff. Farmer John's is top though, or was 10ish years ago, apparently it's better now, although my drop in skills, bottle, a full face helmet and bouncey bits at both ends mean I haven't been back for a long time.
