  • I don’t think it would work for me, although I quite like the all black vibe.

@Regal - most expensive strap I ever bought. I’m cheap when it comes to straps. See some listed below 😂

@AlfredIV thanks. “If I could only have one watch” and all that.

  • Beater watch for tea and croissants in Caherciveen

  • So got these straps that I bought for the Longines, but the gap is too visible. They’re all 20mm

  • I'll take the green one plz

  • @PawG nice straps make all the difference, just don’t get suncream on them.

Supposed to be camping today, not rushing to leave the refuge of a warm, dry house.

  • That is a good advice! I tend to wear leather only in the winter, but seems like the summer has been put on hold for now...

  • Really like this with that strap, it isn't a colour I'd think of chosing but it works well. I'm trying hard not to become a Longines fan boy.

  • Cheers bro, just checked my PM’s and it was four years ago I bought it from @Stonehedge. It still has the top spot as my no nonsense, wear anywhere daily.

  • I’m jealous you have the wrist to pull it off, I think the Pelagos dial is fantastic.

I like that strap too. I'm definitely a longines fanboi... the shame

    Speaking of which, where's yours?

  • Nothing fancy here... Due to the stinking hot weather the beginning of the week I swapped to a nato...

  • I kind of miss it still. Was just a touch too small for me at the time though.

Im pretty sure they make a larger version of the same watch...have never bothered to look it up though.

  • Speaking of straps, I really like this Christopher Ward hybrid one. I'm not normally a fan of rubber straps but I do like this

  • i like that bling orange

  • It's nice, though I find it quite annoying how the minute hand completely covers the actual minute track on the dial.

  • I tried and looked for the 656 (I think) version but they are long discontinued and hard to find in decent quality.

  • I like that look aesthetically but it is a bit annoying when setting the time.

  • Brown strap for me too (another @PawG cast off). New toolroll arrived today which matches strap.

  • That’s the American Horween leather, right? I’m glad it’s holding up nicely 👍

  • I've been wearing my old Seiko chrono recently (after thanks to this thread finding out that the 7t42 movement requires an exact spec battery), but after wearing the Damasko for a few days, I have to say I much prefer straps to metal bracelets. Really I could just wear my gshock all the time!

  • Many scratches later, finally got the OG 21mm MN strap on.

Might go back to bracelet, Tudor’s one are pretty comfortable.

  • That the equivalent of "feel cute may delete later"?

  • Pretty much, didn’t think I be comfortable with a Tudor bracelet, but it is annoying when riding, as it’s either too tight or too loose.

Can a watch make drill an extra hole on the clasp to increase micro adjustablity?

  • Was suggested I come here from the ebay thread after someone bought it and then decided he didn’t want it following a scammer buying it and then getting contacted by eBay to say they were a scammer, so a bit fed up of there!

I recently inherited a watch, it was in a tin of things my grandmother kept belonging to my grandfather, he died in ‘92 and she died last year. Following a bit of research it seems it’s an Omega 6B/452 1953 “fat arrow”, I don’t know where the watch came from as my grandfather was in the navy during ww2 and I think he left at the end of the war so wasn’t a pilot in 1953 when these were issued. My best guess is that as he was an office clerk for British rail and it may have been recovered from the lost property at London Bridge station as did my first bike but that’s another story! As such it doesn’t hold any sentimental value, and I’d rather have some cash towards something I can enjoy!

It was suggested by someone on ebay the back engraving is different to others, and I’ve removed the back and it seems a genuine omega case so not sure if it is messed around with or when (likely 30+ years ago if it was!).

The watch runs once wound, but does lose a bit of time over a day, I’ve not checked how much!

Wondering if there is any interest or advice on if there is a better place to sell it, seems like dealer price is about £3k, eBay price ~£2k, would be happy with £1600 but let me know if I’m way off here!

I did buy a nato strap for it but as it would involve cutting off the leather strap I’ve not done anything with that yet..
