  • "It’s not possible to tell whether Dura-Ace shares a chain with Shimano’s 12-speed mountain bike groupsets."

I'm going to take a wild guess here

  • Here's a nice Campagnolo one for you

  • This is all I could find. It still shifts better than SRAM.

  • the sramils seem to be pretty satisfied with their etAp hoods, maybe a dig at this status driven clientele

  • The cranks look like 10 year old MTB cranks

Not that different from 9100, right?

I think they look bad due to the chainrings. They might've put these on, to fly a little bit more under the radar. I suspect the final release will have different chainrings, similar to 9100.

  • Yeah, what @tijs said about the cranks and rings, but that doesn’t stop those shifters from being huge and ugly!

  • is this togs

  • Definitely not the final crank. Shimano always making ugly cranks but not that ugly, that looks like FSA.

  • that looks like FSA.

Not a thing any manufacturer wants to hear*

    *unless it's a headset

  • That rear mech looks like it will support a 32T cog

  • Definitely not the final crank.

I think they are. They're no uglier than 9100 and surely they want to test the real deal instead of some very different proto cranks?

  • Likely cranks are final but the rings (with tabs) are not. They'll come with hollowforged blended rings £££

The real question is whether they will use a 10-up cassette and microspline body or not. My guess is not with 11-28/30 the smallest cassettes hence the longer cage. They might bring in microspline for 12speed GRX though to allow for some mullets

  • They're no uglier than 9100

    I beg to differ.

  • Obviously looks are subjective, and I might be blind, but I don't really see a huge difference. Little more square I guess?

  • They're the same in that they're black and 4 bolt but the arms look flat with raised sides, which is what reminds me of cheap mtb cranks

I'm sure they'll look better with more integrated chainrings but then I was not a fan of 9100 cranks anyway

  • 12speed GRX

That would be a VERY short duration between releases of GRX then

  • New Shimano cranks

  • Again with the boring black.

  • like that. really wish there were more cranks out there that accepted shimano rings.

  • Anyone know if an MTB FD would work with road shifters?

  • Anyone know if an MTB FD would work with road shifters?

You have to be little more specific.

Which groupset (manufacturer)? How many speeds? Mechanical or electronic?

  • Sorry, 11 speed Shimano. Basically the problem is the bike currently has a road crank on it but have had to shim the BB to get the arm to not rub the stays. Ideally I think an MTB crank would be better but would like a double. I have a road FD but don't think it would reach a 73mm crank.

  • I see you're running GRX 1x (with a RD-RX812 rear derailleur). I don't think you'll be able to run a double, because the rear derailleur doesn't have enough capacity for that.

So, I guess you're stuck with 1x. Unless you also plan to replace the rear derailleur.

  • I can change the rd, got the clutched rd that preceded grx spare. but am running the di2 supposed 1x version 2x without issue.
