    What's the best hardware / software / both solution for routing audio on Windows. I used Loopback on Mac but they don't have Win version.

    I have a game. I want to record both in-game audio and my mic audio from a wireless headset. I want them both recorded (ideally different channels) onto an external recorder over HDMI.

    I also need to be able to hear the game audio through headset.

    Using Voicemeeter I can send my mic on the headset to the recorder but game audio doesn't go through. I was sort of able to get application audio to the recorder but only by changing my system audio to Voicemeeter. But Voicemeeter did something to the sound of the game so instead of the lovely, layered surround sound on the Logitech G Pro X Wireless I only hear noises in binary - they're either to my left or to my right - so 180 degrees of possibility rather than hearing a sound and suddenly being able to point towards it within 5-10 degrees. I had to look directly at the source of a noise to work out where it was coming from (i.e. pan left and right until I hear it transition from left hemisphere to right hemisphere and then I know where it's coming from).

    I'm open to:

    • Getting a different mic and see if separating the input/output helps. Also not really happy with the quality of voice recordings I'm getting from the Logitech G Pro X even with lots of tinkering in the BlueVoice settings. I have lots of broadcast mics already though.

    • Getting some sort of hardware mixer and/or USB interface to use with my broadcast mics - e.g. a focusrite scarlett 2i2 / a Rodecaster Pro - both would be potentially useful for work or maybe the GoXLR Mini / similar?

    Something else? I'd prefer hardware over software mainly because I don't want to have to change Windows settings every time I play a game.

    Thoughts?
