  • Advice needed on repairing a Speedy Reduced.

I have epilepsy and had a seizure last week. Usually my watch survives unscathed. Not this time. Scratch to the headline Crystal, which I can live with. Unfortunately the bracelet clasp seems to have been twisted or similar and now when I try to close it, it springs straight back open.

Ideally, I’d like the original bracelet repaired. Any ideas if that’s possible?

If not, then I could look at replacing with another - NOS seem stupidly expensive. Any recommendations on other straps/bracelets available at 18mm?

  • Sorry to hear that, thats really bad luck!

I would have thought that a decent watch repair person would be able to get your bracelet back to how it was with a little manipulation. Might be worth talking to Alsal if you wanted to try a cheaper option first.

Not sure about how much it costs for a new crystal for an Omega.

  • Frustrating! It not like you were being careless, just bad luck.

Maybe @smackerjack could help? He’s a watch repairer. I’ve used his services and would definitely recommend the quality of his work

  • I reckon you can fix that yourself with some careful bending. Or worst case swap out the clasp.

  • headline Crystal,

hesalite crystal? You might be able to buff that out with polywatch

    hope that helps.

I think @dammit had a bad scuff on his and did a good job buffing it out.

  • Hey soory to hear about the misfortune with the speedy.
The glass looks beyond polywatch to me.
I have had some success with reprofiling those clasps if they have been twisted , or as said on here you can ususally just replace the clasp section.
    ( I may even have one )
PM if you want us to look at for you.
