    But Latin, the language of Vatican City State, doesn't. I favour cleaving as closely as is practical to the native names of places, a practice which seems to be adopted only sporadically by popular convention based, it seems, on a perverted notion of political correctness. It's odd that we are directed to say Mumbai and Beijing now, but there is no clamour for a general adoption by English speakers of Köln or Torino
