  • If you do ever have the misfortune of being stopped by a copper who is actually aware of construction and use regs then they'll also be able to do you for not having a chainguard/front sprocket cover (if not fitted not an MOT fail), brake light operated by both brakes (photo doesn't seem to show a switch on the front?) and you also need a red rear reflector - thought that one was an MOT requirement too though.

Ninja edit - if you're going for no lights at all then ignore the brake light comment! Reflector still needed.

  • @Jung well..... I am expecting it to be a really sketchy motorised version of the Giant Acid 4x bike, or the BMX - don't go fast and get off the road asap and enjoy the chill. There are pitbike seat options as above, I'll look at some mini sponge seat pad on the mudguard before going full seat bro.

@cagimaha it is all a bit strange with that stuff. If there's no lights, there's no lights. Last I checked reflector isn't needed if you don't have any lights at all. It's not much trouble to whack a little reflector on the number plate anyway.

Realistically I'm only on the road for a couple of miles to get out of town and into the countryside. Definitely a risk of cops, but I will do my best to set the bike up for all that jazz to avoid any big problems.
