TBF I ridden on those system before and they were very precise, the cable tension is always spot on, so there's no slack when you changes gears when running friction.
Downside is that it's friction, I personally think he's best off just fitting a 7 speed cassette from a 10 speed block and run a dura ace 10 speed shifters.

The rando rack really speaks to his aero credentials

We had it in the 80s. Was heavily marketed on Oz TV and nowhere near as fun as in the ads.

"The disc brake versions include more internal clearance up to 38mm tires, and can also be custom trimmed for rim brake bikes sporting larger tires."

Have you ridden a bicycle before?

Rode some #SpanishGravel at the weekend following parts of the Ojos Negros route, which would have been lovely if it didn't form part of two 100km/900m days and if I hadn't been on a Synapse with 28mm tyres. This photo is probably some of the best surface we rode on the path. Ouch.
If you are a fan though, the Ojos Negros is a great route pretty much all the way from Teruel to Valencia following an old quarry train line.

Bicycle quarterly did some wind tunnel testing about ten years ago, here's something about that in the blog and the rest was only on the printed article. I think that's all the testing they've done. Mudguards and handlebar bags are good or at least not bad, accoding to that.

Open sewage under natural uv is the best way to break down shit into harmless, useful fertiliser - often better than being piped out to sea.
Shame it doesn’t work on your posts.

genuinely did not know that! Went glamping couple of weekends ago and they had compost toilets; never going camping (again).

That looks like a nice route, we did a similar via verdes ride last weekend, Girona to Sant Feliu de Guíxols, it was only the last section of the complete route, about 40km each way, but I had my 1 yr old on the bike for her 1st longer test ride.
In the past we've done the first section - ripoll to Olot, and then down to Girona which is a great route too.But this one might make good future project to look at, maybe once the summer heat has started to ebb....

Due to a snapped derailleur, bent hanger and brexit this is happening. 34-17 is the magic(ish) gear…
