Basically, new watches are a terrible way to try and make a fast buck, unless you already have lots and lots of money and can maintain a preferential relationship with the authorised dealer based on that.
If you want to make money with vintage you need a vast amount of knowledge and to sink all your time into understanding what is desirable, what isn't, etc, play the long game and accept a lot of risk/uncertainty around what will and won't be collectible/desirable in the long run.

I'm afraid waiting in line doesn't work. The "waiting lists" are a way to fob people off.
