29ers and 26ers flow around those who step into the same Waitrose car park. The wanker hybrids disperse and come together … flow in and out … towards us and away.

I’m really not too sure what’s happened since I was last here but it’s great! 26ers I feel can definitely be wanky, but a lot of what I have been seeing is more in the way of retro mtb basket packing said by @Netakure. I know that I am definitely in the 26er pack and am up for criticism but we need these retro mtbs to be outweighed by the wank to retro equation. More imports more cnc more small time manufacturing. Kill the triple

Same tbh. I do enjoy the banter and self-awareness on here though, although I don't see it the latter lasting somehow.

Yeah, especially when people start referring to them as 'dad' bikes

“I take full responsibility for the ruckus here, and I will take full responsibility for fixing things,”
“We have changed as a party, but we haven’t set out a strong enough case to the forum. Very often we’ve been talking to ourselves, instead of to the forum, and we’ve lost the trust of cnc fanatics, particularly in places like the green belt. I intend to do whatever is necessary to fix that,”
“It’s about how we operate as an organisation: taking the party out of the the retro realm. The structure is much too dad-bike focused,” said the source. “That’s definitely one of the things we’re looking at. It’s about how you wankerfy the twenty sixers.”

Here here! Well said

Doc Sportello won at Wolverhampton yesterday over 5f.
I'm taking it as an omen that we can collectively overcome the inherent vice of wanker hybrid praxis. -

i think the whole party agrees this does not meet the requirements with road bike tyres and no bling, halo wheels? might as well be nologo
denied, please apply to the "just want her back :'( [mash/2008 ] thread"

Humbly asking why these are not 'Wankeur Bikes' in line with what I'd suggest is their randonneur/constructeur lineage?
-
• #388
700c/650b wheels sizes are explicitly banned, if they were not we'd have this place over ran with squid bikes, road bikes people have epically but risers on and a whole host of really bad cross checks
stuff usually reserved for the gravel thread
first page has a constantly updated guide on the rules of the thread, it is constantly reviewed and revised in line with the current zeitgeist

It's probably already up thread?

Wanker (me) on a wanker bike on a wanker bike ride. Two Crust's and two vintage basket mountain bikes with tyres that cost more than the rest of the bike were present.

Textbook execution. Even that front reflector feels relevant

600 metre round trip!!....about the max range for this insta-weapon imho tbh. Fortunately I was able to forage for provisions at the half way point..
(Thanks - I'm wondering whether to replace the reflector with some Spokey-Dokes? But its delayed whilst I deliberate what colour sequence I should use and also difficulty sourcing anodized alloy Spokey-Dokes?)

Think I have a readers in previous incarnation that is worth jury's consideration.
Steel, wide swept back bars, agricultural alfine chainset BUT running WI 21t freewheel, other parts not worth mentioning. I can't remember if Alpkit is allowed. I think there is a spacer there as well.
This setup nearly killed my back after two rides, it's now SSCX (banned)

unfortunately due to to tyre size, use of carbon and lack of bling i believe you intended to post here:

it is a nice bike, but it is not a wanker hybrid
-
• #396
Is mrs upsidedown a wanker?
-
• #397
Those are 35s! Is WI not 'bling?' Fair play on the carbon though. I think this merit judical review however. Appeal pending.
-
• #398
It's a promising start, the carbon fork is a little "purposeful" though. If you could swap it out for something that could take a rack we'd be willing to open a dialogue.
We do appreciate how clean the bike is.

35s is a road racing tyre, we only accept sizes in inches here as per the full rules on page 1, judicial review over ruled,
white industry hubs i assume? this is unfortunate because we need to see it in pictures to be attracted enough to click through from the thumbnail on insta

You can appeal but due to cuts the system is backed up for months. Speaking off the record however, no one is going to buy 35mm as mountain bike tyres. That said Schwalbe do refer to their 35c smart sams as "28 x 1.40" so perhaps you can argue that precedent?
“If twenty sixerism is so seamless, and if current forms of resistance are so hopeless and impotent, where can an effective challenge come from? A moral critique of twenty sixerism, emphasizing the ways in which it leads to suffering, only reinforces twenty sixerism. lack of discs, frame flex and awkward reach/stack can be presented as an inevitable part of reality, while the hope that these forms of suffering could be eliminated easily painted as naive utopianism. twenty sixerism can only be threatened if it is shown to be in some way inconsistent or untenable; if, that is to say, a twenty sixers ostensible 'realism' turns out to be nothing of the sort.”
