Unless she's hassling our old neighbour Ishmael - in which case she apparently goes by Tuna.

I've lost track of the amount names our tomcat goes by. He only really reacts to his "proper" name though.

This is Zwei (means Two in the German language)
He looks more majestic than he actually is.

Anyone got recommendations for a catflap that can run through a typical double brick cavity wall? One that works on the cat's microchip?

We're having a patio door taken out and a window put in so taking the opportunity to have a catflap installed in the new brickwork. But can't work out what we need to span the gap. And as it's going to be part of the fabric of the house we'd like a decent one, that will last.

Any suggestions, ideally based on experience welcomed. Thanks in advance.

hey! we just did the same. We have a sureflap microchip cat flap and you buy these tunnel extenders, builder just told us how many we needed - 4 plus the flap :)

+1 for sureflap. Excellent customer service! Live time warranty on parts. The knob on the flap broke a coupe of times, a phone call to them and got a new one the next day.

Have kidnapped a cat, well cat napped and I though I would ask on here to see if I did the right thing or am I a cunt.

Cat owner has gone in to hospital 5-6 days ago. The owner won't be coming out of hospital for a long time, not sure that the owner was looking after the cat as owner barely looked after herself. But that is another story. Cat has been on the street for 5-6 days and not been inside. No one nearby was looking after him, I found this out as met him meowing round the communal bins. Didn't seem like the feral cats as he was quite chatty, not hissing. The local cat friendly neighbours have filled me in to what happened.

No one nearby wants to look after the cat, so decided to try and trap him, to at least get him some attention. Put the cat basket on the floor and he went in to a cat basket willingly with a kitty meat treat. Have dropped him off at a friends a few miles away, where he is the only cat. Poor kitty has fleas, so have treated with flea treatment, going to wait a bit and de worm him too. Poor cat is hungry, but limiting his food so he doesn't throw up. Awaiting a vet appointment to get him checked out, spoke to the vet on the 'phone and looks a little skinny but fine.

Seems happy indoors and after flea brushing and treatment is smelling the house and finding things to lie on. Seem happy indoors and not trying to escape.

Am concerned that I haven't done the right thing.

Keep him until the owner returns home and have a word. If she can’t look after herself then as sad as it might be, she probably shouldn’t be looking after any animal. I get the company part but...

Concerned that I have stolen someones cat.

Of course and will do when I go and deliver some toys to him, and worming tablet.

@ExTra Suspect, if what I have been told is true, she won't be coming home for a long time. Trying to get confirmation where she is and not just gossip. But is hard as I'm not next of kin or anyone.

Well let's say you have "borrowed it".
Furthermore one does not own cats but cats are owning you.

Jokes aside, I do understand your concerns but the reality is that without you or somebody else taking care of it that cat would be outside and alone, full of fleas, worms, and hungry.
So in my eyes you definitely did do the right thing, absolutely!
The person that went to hospital will most likely be really grateful that somebody took care of it, which she apparently failed to do.

You definitely did the right thing! Even if it ends up being short term whilst the owner is in hospital, you've made sure that that cat is being cared for properly. If it becomes apparent that the owner can't care for the cat long term, that's sad but the safety and wellbeing of the cat has to come first!
