  • The coldest I've ever been at a match was at Craven Cottage. Feb 2012.

Minus 5 with a 20mph wind coming off the river.

That sounds rough. I've been really cold there once, but learnt my lesson. Organised a mate's stag do in probably feb or march of 2011 which started off watching a bit of footy in the neutral end of the cottage (vs Blackbun ended 3-2, the returning bobby zamora scored the winning penalty) anyways I made sure everyone knew to wrap up, but it wasn't too bad in the end. One bloke went to town and was in about 5 layers plus long johns, sweating buckets in the pub afterwards and had to change.

Conversely I watched us (Everton) win there for the first time in about 50-60 years in May of 2009. The weather was absolutley beautiful, glorius sunshine, perfect result. Met a few mates, drank a lot of guiness afterwards and dreamt about the FA cup final (we'll ignore the actual result.)

0-2 would definitely watch again. Probably my favourite away day, in fact.

  • The drunkest I've ever been was in hospitality there too. In the George Cohen suite, September '13. He was a bit racist about the upcoming Brazil WC and had to be shuffled out the room mid QA session.

Several rounds of beer before the game, then 2 inches of brandy into a hot chocolate for the terraces, a bottle of port (for two) post game and a few more pints in the players bar for good measure.

My BIL (who was my guest) was found by his now-wife, in his underwear, in their flat, pushing dark red vomit around the wooden floors with a sodden mop, sobbing slightly and apologising to her when she came back home later that evening.

    1-1. Would also not recommend.
