a brexit version of something is where you want one thing but can’t get it due to one reason or another, be it cost or availability. The end result usually inspires something aesthetically less elegant and ornate, but with the same vibe and sense of purpose.
Maybe next we will do the boutique gravel iceberg model to explain why Rivendell is above crust in the “absolutely deranged world of gravel hipsters”

why is crust brexit riv? I generally use the adjective Brexit for something homegrown and sycophantic. e.g. Hope is Brexit Chris King.
