Prime centrelock - no complaints & it looks great (IMO)

How do you build stress relief into a wheel?
We all build stress into wheels, good builders relieve bending loads in the spokes before giving the wheels to the end user. Obviously, failure to stress-relieve is unlikely to be the issue on your wheels with their straight-pull spokes 🙂

Got it, ta. So presumably the issue is residual spoke wind up? Sorry, wheelbuilding luddite so thanks for holding my hand.

which spec go-proe's are those? Look good!

35mm deep, 32mm wide, 3k twill matt, cx ray spokes

Let's hope so, as that can be simply and permanently fixed by your wheel builder.
It could be the carbon progressively failing at the nipple support and your wheels will never be straight for long, although looking on the bright side that does mean they will probably fail catastrophically before too long, so you won't have to make too many visits to the repair shop 🙂 -

cx ray spokes
It should be pretty impossible for an even half decent builder to leave wind-up in CX-Rays, so the second explanation is looking more likely🙂

Thinking of taking a punt on these since they’re cheap and look nice: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33018189055.html
Anyone tried them on here?

Thinking of taking a punt
Sure, why not. GXP is, after all, the third best 24/25mm axle design, and there's obviously no good reason why every reputable manufacturer and Rotor use steel axles in their 24/25mm designs

My goproes came. I absolutely love them. No tax to pay either

Because it looks better. Your influencing has failed this time.
12k is big planet x vibes

To those that just go their wheels from Go-Proe, or any other AliX wheels, did anyone add grease to the innards of the hubs and other checks before they got rolling? Mine are with Parcelforce and will be here by the end of the week.

i like the 3k vibe. I opted for that on my LB wheels recently, but then bottled it and changed my mind.

mmmmm! shiny!
any idea on the weights?
i'd be interested to know if the end caps come out to convert to qr? i couldn't see a qr option on the go-proe ordering page but it looks like they might be similar to novatec ones... -

I'll have a fiddle and get the scales out after work
mmmmm! shiny!
What's the point in carbon wheels if they're matte black like alloy ones?
...Other than performance. Form > Function -
• #9246
They're all sealed bearings. I won't be worse than a branded wheel with Novatec or any other far east hub.
-
• #9247
So they weigh in at 1639g on my scales which isn't too light but its pretty much what they claimed they would be.
And there's no spoke holes so I don't need to add rim tape to that. The end caps also do pull right out but I'm not sure if other sizes are available or where to get them if they are -
• #9248
thanks. don't think that's too bad weight wise especially for the cost.
I did see on the go-proe page an exploded diagram of the hubs but there's no mention of interchangeable end caps unfortunately. maybe I'll send them a message. -

My Carbonda CF696 arrived on the 12th April, way ahead of schedule. The shipping box was pretty squashed on one side but it seemed well packed and all in one piece. No additional fees or taxes so far.
I've been too busy to do anything with it yet and I also wanted to give the paint a chance to fully cure. Paint seems really good in general, love the sick chameleon colour change paint. There is a bit of carbon on the crown race that I will have to file off before I can build it up.
I bust my ribs so now I will hopefully have time to switch everything over from another bike and get it built up. Pic is of the actual bike, I told Carbonda I would take a proper picture of it if they sped up the process for me. They offered me a $100 discount but only if I had their logo on it.

Damn, that's disappointing. I'll get them trued and see what happens.
