just so we're clear i was never a tyre denier, but i am glad i was bullied into switching the tyres, the rolling speed on tarmac is much nicer and noticeable when accelerating, even if the weight isn't all that different.

was quite late to swinley today, yet again more flopping about with general hybrid of covid induced agoraphobia and "my-bike-has-clunky-gears-so-is-unridable-itus", but i'm glad i did in the end.
i decided to explore the hut hill side of the forest, and it was fab. a very pretty scene, not just this view of berkshire, but the trees are taller and the trails are quiet. it's quite funny how in just 5-8 square miles of forest the landscape changes so radically, the west end is a tall oregonian forest experience, the east is a new mexico arrid desert with low lying vegetation.
all this combined with a good playlist of emo-rap and queer electronica it was quite a good time. completed the package of riding my cute bike in a cute outfit to a nice sound track, a wonderful escape from wider life.
