  • It has wooden rims too.

  • Cane rims are mad looking. There are also wooden rims that have alu around them, weirdly, that look normal.

  • Pretty much finished. Loads of fiddly cable routing and mudguard fettling I'd been putting off. The routing is done with pairs of mudguard eyes brazed flat on fork tube and down tube, so the cable is tensioned with a domed screw (coax rear cable with a tiny nylon Pclip too).

’93 Copenhagen Cykler Pedersen built for 700 x32, adapted for Canti @ 650B height. Dyno routing bosses and triple bolt cage mounts added. Powdered by Aurum Coatings in Stealth Copper aka bloody very dark brown, a bit sparkly. Fantastic job by Steve and colleagues, gread thread masking, light powder and very very few blobs for such a complicated frame.

10sp 46-11 Deore casstte, Xt 9sp mech with Sunrace hanger extender, Campag Chorus crank, J&L NR chainring in awkward 135mm BCD. Shimano 10sp long chain for these long stays. MKS XC-III pedals.
Hope RS4/SON 28 36h on Pacenti Brevet with D-Light & alloy nipples. WTB Horizon (with tubes for now). Crappy mismatched skewers :/
VO Zeppelin guards, dyno cables routed inside with grommets, obscure 80s modular rack by cult luggage dude Andrew Hague (courtesy @absurdbird ), NOS 90's Tektro (?) cantis with large height adjustment, could reach some 700s put back on if I choose. Kool Stop obvs. B&M IQ-X and mini rear P-clipped to rear tension cables. Saddle & strap as bought, probably original. Stronglight A9 sealed. Dia-Compe reverse levers, NOS Ritchey foam grips, Shimano Unishift MTB thumbie, left lever mounted inboard on the right.

Super aero and tucked fork, I am so fast.

  • PIC?!?!!

  • I'll keep an eye out for any good deals on secondhand framebags

  • It does suggest some kerazy big triangle bags doesn't it! Would want them to look all old Carradicey though ...

  • absolute madness, this was actually crazier than DBAD in the same spirit!

  • Don't tar me with that brush thanks Amey

  • Looking really handsome there, despite being completely bonkers.
Those cantis are beaut, is that a Campag crankset?

There is a certain type of eccentric who rides a Pedersen.
    😶
I say niche you say singular.

I’m chuffed to bits that rack has found it’s proper home.
    Bravo.

  • Shit’s frikkin mad yo

  • Hah yep a bit bonkers. Famalam piss themselves when I approach atop this monster.

    Rack is perfect!

First generation Chorus, 172.5mm I believe. They suit it nicely.

  • Wow! that is spectacular!
Would it be possible to turn around the mounts, to fix the fork crown struts of the rack to the underside of the rack rail? Do you get what i mean? Canti stradle cable might prevent it.

  • Super nice. How does it ride?

  • Amazing.

  • Nope, the struts are very short and this way gives best brake clearance (struts are very close to canti mounts, so this angles is better). Also, the clamps give a kind of kerb for a top bag to rest at so i doubt I'd get new stays made.

@landslide it's weird, lovely, very flexy and has a very enjoyable responsive springiness that feels quite planey. Downsides so far, segmented fork is buzzy on the dyno at a particular speed, fortunately a low one so not likely to affect normal cruising, and some strange new muscle groups are whining.

  • really excellent, great job!

  • I hope you and this will be attending S&J leaving do in a few weeks!

    I’d like to see both.

  • I hope you and this will be attending S&J leaving do in a few weeks!

    Yeah baby

  • All the niche quality of DBAD, none of the unecessary faf. Strange and straight to the point.
    I love it!
