I dunno what layout you're going to go for but the reeded glass window is really nice, maybe you could mirror it with a reeded glass shower screen or cabinet. You could use some fluted tiles or panelling to echo the reeded texture? I'd probably try and take it back to bare wood if poss as think that could look really nice. But basically it's a nice reeded sash window so think as long as it's not a super plush handleless spaceship it should look good

Thanks! This is really helpful and great to get another perspective - I was looking at really quite contemporary designs but that would be out of kilter with the rest of the flat anyway, plus my girlfriend was not keen. Good to tone it down from there, make a feature of what we can from the existing bathroom and design around that.
RE taking the window back to bare wood - is that an achievable DIY project or something you'd want someone with experience/correct tools to take on? I'm struggling to find images to picture it, especially with the depth of the frame ours has, there would be a lot of wood on show so finish would need to be really good?
I'd love some views on potential bathroom refresh/revamp I'm looking into at the moment. Basically, current bathroom is tired, could do with replastering, definitely needs new suite and tiling, pretty sure I'm up for going ahead with everything including new flooring and fittings etc. The main question is the window, see pic below, which is quite traditional. I've been liking some of the more modern designs on here and elsewhere recently, but concern is that anything modern/sleek will not work with the window which is pretty traditional. And ideas on potential designs/inspiration that would fit with the window as-is, or whether it would just be worth replacing the window to allow something more contemporary?
Cheers
