I found a local lake which is club day ticket and not a "commercial". First two sessions had only bits on the pole, third session changed the approach and went specimen hunter with two rods on buzzers and afternoon/evening session and got a bream about 2.5lb, a perch about 3lb and a tench about 4.5lb. So nice to see the bait runners screaming off and not at all any less engaging than fishing the pole or match style. Can't wait for the river season to start again so I can go blank frustratingly on the fens whilst not catching tench.
