Nice one! Glad you enjoyed it.

Claridges was a proper good afternoon tea when I went there for my 1st wedding anniversary (but that was a number of years ago)
Haven't been anywhere else though

Interesting opinion piece on restaurants during and what they may become after this crisis!

Huge long shot, but often the forum delivers...
... does anyone know somewhere that is:
- North, North London (ie Highgate, Finchley, Mill Hill, etc. not Angel)
- decent outdoor space suitable for social distancing
- good pregnancy veggie menu (I.e. No soft cheeses in everything)
- Open today
Cheers!

The Flask (Highgate)? I imagine it must be overrun on a normal Sunday, but perhaps not today, as it's cool. It has quite a large courtyard that probably still seats a fair number of people even with social distancing. The veggie menu looks OK, nothing Earth-shattering:

No idea if you can still book for today or what their current modus operandi is, of course. I haven't been there for years. (*sniff*)

Or not too far from there, the cafe at Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath.
It has hot food and sandwiches and some nice seats in the kitchen garden. Their soup is normally really good.

Hadn't thought about that. Don't think I've ever eaten there, but I'll have a look.
Originally wondered about the Spaniard, but the veggie options didn't look all that and it's quite an expensive place for one person to end up with a shit to average meal.
Seriously fucking hate having to find vegetarian friendly restaurants.

I'm a vegetarian but I don't really think about whether a place is vegetarian or not nowadays. Most places now have at least one vegan option (which would normally be improved with a lump of cheddar as far as I'm concerned).
I also went there in December when my wife was 6 months pregnant so we are your target demographic and enjoyed it.

Toddler friendly (!) Dim Sum in East/North/Central London?
-
• #1189
Imperial China would be my go to - big and you can usually get a seat straight away. The dimsum is also really good and keenly priced. It's our go to especially as Royal China is closed for renovation.

sorry if that was for today :(

just been to Dulwich Lyceum, (very) nice but (very) pricey

Ended up really craving dumplings after a month in Europe and the two weeks self isolating. Decided to try Dumplings legend and was jolly good. Also 30% off which seems to be the norm in China town at the moment. Lovely way to refuel after a 25km run round the parks this morning

Been invited to a mates wedding later this year. Very low key just witnessing the signatures but off for a nice meal after. So..
6 people, walkable or short taxi tube from Islington Town hall. Decent restaurant, budgeting around £150 - £200 a head.Suggestions please, thanks.

I've been to Anglo a number of times and it's always been great. About 10 minutes taxi from the Town Hall.

Trullo is incredible, and for that sort of budget you could eat and drink like absolute gods...
-
• #1196
@aggi Anglo looks decent. We are eating on a Wednesday so could get the tasting menu and decent wine for under budget.
@owl trullo looks really nice but I would guess they want something that feels a bit special and homely Italian vibes might feel like something they could do anytime (the reviews were amazing though and the food looks awesome)
Thanks for the suggestions keep me coming.
