No, sadly it is still a thing. I have heard the coronation being described as a "sacrament" and that, as a consequence, they are our rulers anointed under apostolic succession by God. This is sadly not a joke. Just an example of the way in which theology can be created to justify wrong.
To be fair, that's not too dissimilar to the way @amey rules the forum.
