I thought it was common knowledge that a lot of analgesics contain caffeine? It's the because it can increase absorption / efficacy, and is a pretty effective analgesic itself.

Checked on my Poundland 3 packets for a pound paracetamol and they contain nothing but paracetamol and filler.

But don't take Panadol just before going to bed. They contain fucktons of caffeine. Don't ask how I know this.
