I've got this page saved in my favourites: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/home
If you're logged in, you might get different options whether you've got Concierge or not for the callback bit, chatbox, etc.

Yeah that's the page I've been looking at. I'm logged in but have no option for call/chat. Only a list of options that aren't relevant.
Edit - Ah I see now, if I click on any of the options I can choose call back/chat. Weird it's hidden so deeply.

There's nothing weird about it, they deliberately place as many obstacles as possible in your way in the hope that you will give up. Making things easy would cost them millions.

how can i save a copy of a password protected PDF without the password protection on it?

Maybe a bit vague/silly question but will I notice the difference going from a 385mm axel to crown to a 400mm?
I get it's going to lift the front a bit, but is it just going to be like switching between a 80 and 110 stem, where you notice it initially but soon forget?
Cheers.

will I notice
Who knows, your sensitivity is a mystery to us. You can do all the maths for yourself, but in addition to increasing stack by about 14mm and very slightly reducing reach, you will also be reducing BB drop by about 6mm, reducing the head and seat tube angles by nearly 1° and, assuming no change in fork offset, increasing trail by about 6mm. These are all changes which lie within the normal range of variability, but they vary between bicycle use cases for reasons, and not usually in the same direction as using the wrong fork changes them, e.g. if you slacken the angles and increase trail to turn your road bike into a touring bike, you would usually increase BB drop, not reduce it.
I'm sure you will be able to ride around the "problem", and even come to see it as normal, but you may always have a nagging suspicion that your bike isn't as nice as it used to be.

Cheers. This is basically what I wanted to know. It's an old CX frame for road use, so dropping the BB and slackening it a bit isn't the end of the world.
I haven't worked out the rake etc. But just wanted a bit of a gauge as to whether it was going to be a major issue.

You’ll reduce bb drop, not bb height. It’ll be higher :)

• #107661
Ha!
I thought that was odd but #trustintester stopped me querying it.
This is also the OG fork I'm comparing to. Pretty sure the current one has a slightly lower a-c as there's a hint of low pro when viewed from the side.

I'm gearing down a little on the fixed rat bike and going from a 1/8" setup to 3/32". I have everything but a chain, recommend me a chain that'll handle plenty of usage.
I have a 10spd road chain with holes in everything sitting here that I don't think will handle the job (KMC X10SL, it's for another bike anyways)Another one for the same bike, I just cracked a set of 6700 cranks on it riding on a sort of medium gear for about 6 years.
Please remind me that it would be stupid to fit a carbon Campagnolo CX 10 crankset for riding fixed so I can move it on to another bike. -

Maybe try a KMC single speed ebike chain? Come in 3/32 and 1/8

Which track frame can take the widest tyres?
-
• #107665
All City Big Block? Takes up to 32 mm tyres.

Yeah I was just looking at the KMC range. The K1 caught my eye also, I'm guessing that's what used to be called the K710 or maybe they've changed this one somehow 🤷🏽♂️ I'm a big fan of the K710. So maybe I'll fit the K1SL? 🤷🏽♂️🤔

weirdly, last time I did use the eBay callback, it was almost instant, outside of usual working hours, and v. helpful.

K1SL
Sure the SL stands for ‘super light’, which isn’t what I’d immediately go for when choosing a workhorse chain! Although in practice it prob won’t affect how fast it wears. I’d go for it if you’ve already got good experience with them.

i think the service level depends on how often you use ebay

The 1/8" setup currently is a K710SL which has done a fair chunk of work over the years. I guess workhorse isn't the right word for my rat, I've been shaving off the grams where I can recently. Also I've stopped doing long rides on it.

Alrighty, pushed go on K1SL. Let's see how it goes.

Sure it’ll be perfect 👌 :)

Is there a forum-friendly discount for SJS? I can't find one.

I have a broken plastic thing. It is to catch the latch for our (very heavy) front door. For various extremely dull reasons I'm finding it very hard to get a direct replacement.
Is there a service to get a replica made in metal?
(it's about 5x4 cms and a few mm thick.)
Or would a 3d printed one be strong enough?

There is, but you might not want to pay for it. There are several ways to cut that out from sheet stock, and if you wanted hundreds of them then they would be cheap. If you just want one, get ready to pay £100 or get your drills and files out and make it yourself.
Oddly, carbon fibre might be the cheapest way to get somebody else to make it, as https://www.fibre-lyte.co.uk/ are ready, willing and able to make one-off flat parts, usually for less than generalist metalworking shops charge.
Hew the fuck do you contact eBay? Every time I need to do it, it seems to change. Not of their "really helpful" articles are helpful, I need to speak to someone. Previously on the contact page there was an option for a callback but now I can't seem to find it anywhere.
